Our History

Michael Montecalvo was born in 1961. Ever since he can remember, his family has been in the restaurant industry. "I first came up with the idea of canning sauce for resale in the late 90's," says Michael. "I started canning sauce in the restaurant for sale to the customers in late 2000. After my parents closed the restaurant and retired in 2001, a few customers would call and ask me to make them some sauce. In 2004, I decided to start Monte Calvo Foods and sell to retail stores."

Currently, Monte Calvo Foods is in various local and regional grocery stores throughout parts of Virginia and Maryland.

Our Brand

The Montecalvo family has been known for years for producing and marketing fine gourmet foods at reasonable prices. Our family restaurants have always had a reputation of quality and expertise in the food industry.

Michael Montecalvo has decided to bring that pride and reputation to a new level to offer more people a chance to experience these quality products for themselves.

The brand "Monte Calvo Foods" is new to the retail market but we believe in a few short years it will be a household name.
